Wish I could go back to the mountains...
Hi Everyone,
Hm...nostalgic memories again. As you can see, I leave a big part of myself to wander in the past. Of course, I do live in the present, but I'm just a person who cant forget things which really are not worth forgetting.. I just remember so well, the day I was preparing for my camp, I was so scared and anxious as I went in the autorickshaw to the Pune Railway station..with my mother whose hand I clutched out of tension probably. Obviously my parents were nervous, because it was the first camp I was going for , alone in my life, with my friends, and they werent so sure how we would be treated. Probably I and even they were under the impression that I was going to have a tough time . Nevertheless, I sat in the train, along with five other people in my compartment, all of them my friends, and in the one next to us and after that were the Pugmarks volunteers.
My experience in the train is the one I'm never going to forget in my entire life. We laughed our heads off on the smallest of jokes. I still remember, how many, just how many bottles of water we'd had to buy because of the heat in Delhi. Every five minutes, we bought a bottle, and that really was ridiculous. I can't just forget the stench there was on some platforms in the north. Ugh, it really was disgusting!
Hm.. in the camp, I for the very least learnt to be in harmony with nature. I'd never felt so fulfilled, so satisfied, so happy and eternal in my entire life anywhere. At night, we could just see millions of stars , and it was a balm for the eyes. That first night in the camp, there was a very weird insect in our tent..and the moment we saw it, we ran outside. Our camp leaders got rid of it for us, it looked like a giant centipede that could fly!! Of course it wasn't one..
Every morning, a friend of ours , woke us up, by singing a song purposely in a monotonous, toneless voice which irritated the hell out of us. We started our day with brushing our teeth in the utterly-impossibly cold water of the himalayas, a stream that would always be there near our campsight. I still remember the wonderful waterfalls that we saw on our way, trekking. At night, when we were really tired, we udes to sing songs, talk, play games, (whenever possible) i.e. and at night too in that dreadful cold we had to wash our plates and everything. In all, the whole experience of camping was tough, tiring, awesome and amazing all at the same time. I can never forget it for the rest of my life, because for the first time in my life, I'd been away from home for such a long time, and enjoyed every bit of it. I still remember the experiences in the train that never fail to make me laugh, whenever I'm low, even yet. They are the most wonderful moments of my life!
